Hello! Welcome to my first post. This will be just a general lifestyle and aesthetic blog where I talk about my many, many hobbies and interests, all of which I perform at varying degrees of skill.
If you don't mind, however, I'd like to talk first about why I made this blog.
I'm Paige. I am a wife, mother, and hobbyist. And today is my 33rd birthday. I got to thinking about the number 33. I looked it up to see if it had some kind of significance in literature, history, or otherwise. I saw many things, but what stuck out to me was the element arsenic, which has an atomic number of 33.
And then that got me thinking about Arsenic Green, aka Scheele's Green. The very deadly pigment that dressmakers and artists alike were so fond of for its vibrant, beautiful, almost haunting hue of green. Even when it was well known that the pigment was highly toxic, it was widely used and beloved just for how beautiful it looked.
I'm very interested in the cost of art, beauty and design, the lengths people will go to achieve their visions, and the discoveries made due to their use, and few things capture that quite like Scheele's Green.
